To be the “Speed Racer” of any sport is to be the only person actually playing that sport; given a hypothetical scenario wherein all game play outcomes are predetermined and all other players are paid to pursue those outcomes. In determining a sport’s “Speed Racer”, one must consider the morality, skill, and determination of potential candidates. Superstars and prima donnas need not apply.

For example, Joe Mauer is the Speed Racer of baseball.
